Hello Ladybug Meets Rainbow Scraps

Cool Background Today With Leftovers!

Back in January, I hosted my first Online Bingo Event and the theme was rainbows. I included four card kits to each person, that we created in-between Bingo games. One of those card kits was a cut-out of the large rainbow die in the Brilliant Rainbow Dies. You can see the large rainbow in this photo:

Once I had 25 Basic White Cardstock rainbows cut out, I had all of the left-over white strips that were removed and I could not bring myself to throw them away. In my mind I thought I could do something neat with them and I did! I used them over and over on my white layer today to create a neat background by overlapping some of them.

The cute punch art ladybug is quite flashy today sporting glimmery wings. I used the Ladybug Builder Punch #157698 along with Mango Melody Cardstock and Gold & Rose Gold Metallic Specialty Paper. Here is the recipe to my card today:

• Card Base: 11″ x 4-1/4″. Score and fold at 5-1/2″.
• Layer #2: Mango Melody Cardstock 5-1/4″ x 4″. Glue to card base.
• Layer #3: Basic White Cardstock 5″ x 3-3/4″. Set aside.
• Layer #4: Use the large rainbow die from the Brilliant Rainbow Dies and cut 4 sets of the rainbow strips in Basic White Cardstock. Glue them to the white cardstock layer by add 4 in a row and layering the next set of over over each other. Trim all ends even to the cardstock layer and glue to card front.
• Sentiment: Stamp the sentiment to one of the rainbow strips by forming the stamp to fit using Fresh Freesia Ink.
• Ladybug: Cut the body of the ladybug with the Ladybug Builder Punch using Mango Melody Cardstock. Cut the wings using Gold & Rose Gold Metallic Specialty Paper. Glue the wings to the body and glue ladybug to card front using Stampin’ Dimensionals.
• Boughs: Use the Bough Punch to cut out the two boughs with Soft Sea Foam Cardstock. Glue tucked under the ladybug.
• Dots: Stamp the doted image over the rainbow strips using Mango Melody Ink.
