My Color Combination!
First off this morning, Happy Birthday to my son Greg! He’s so lucky that his birthday always ends up around Memorial Day and he usually has a long weekend to go hiking with his dog Roux. He’s my baby and turns 35!
Welcome to our Saturday Blog Hop at Create With Connie & Mary! For the past two weeks, our team has been creating projects using the same color combination. We are switching it up this week and creating our own individual color challenge. We all coordinated one new In Color with 2 classic colors. Take a look at my card and see if you can guess the colors that I am using:
Such pretty colors. Lemon Lime Twist is a color that retired a few years ago and was my all-time favorite green. I love that Parakeet Party is so similar, so you’ll see me using that color a LOT! I paired it with Early Espresso and Melon Mambo and I also added Basic White as my neutral. The pretty stamped flowers are from the Sending Smiles stamp set.
Before I list the details of my card, here are a few more photos:
Card Recipe:
- Card Base: Parakeet Party Cardstock 8-1/2″ x 5-1/2″. Score and fold at 4-1/4″.
- Layer #2: He’s The Man Designer Paper 5-1/4″ x 4″. Glue to card base.
- Layer #3: Brights Designer Paper 4″ x 2-3/4″. Use Paper Snips to cut a banner shape on the right end of the 2-3/4″ side. Glue to card front even with the designer paper on the left and centered vertically.
- Layer #4: Basic White Cardstock 4-1/2″ x 3-1/4″. Add the following:
- Stamp the sentiment at the top left using Melon Mambo Ink.
- Stamp the two branches/leaves using Parakeet Party Ink.
- Stamp the flower images using Melon Mambo Ink. I stamped the largest flower twice without reinking for a lighter ink color.
- Stamp the center of the flowers using Early Espresso Ink.
- Stamp the seeds at the bottom of the branches in a horizonal row using Early Espresso Ink. Stamp several times without reinking for a lighter ink color.
- Glue to card front about 1/2″ from the left edge using Stampin’ Dimensionals.
- Bling: Add Iridescent Rhinestone Jewels within the stamped seeds.
