Casing Melissa!
Welcome to our Saturday Blog Hop at Create With Connie & Mary! Melissa is the team designer we are all casing this week and I picked this card of hers to case:
I hope you have been following us the last few weeks because this teaches you how to use a card layout and colors, add in a different stamp set and you’ll achieve the same design. I opted to use the coordinating Christmas Scottie stamp set and Scottie Dog Punch. Everything else I used is the same as Melissa’s card:
Although the Scottie Dog Punch only has one dog image to cut out, I was able to cut out the other two images from the stamp set using my Paper Snips. The dogs are all so cute!
Stampin’ Up! Products Used:
- Stamps: Christmas Scottie
- Inks: Early Espresso, Crumb Cake, Daffodil, Cajun Craze
- Cardstock: Crumb Cake, Basic White
- Tools & Accessories: Timber Embossing Folder, Blossoming Happiness Dies, Paper Snips, Stampin’ Dimensionals, Linen Thread, Brushed Metallic Adhesive Backed Dots
Card Recipe:
- Card Base: Crumb Cake Cardstock 11″ x 4-1/4″. Score and fold at 5-1/2″.
- Layer #2: Crumb Cake Cardstock 5-1/4″ x 4″. Emboss using the Timber Embossing Folder. Glue to card front using Stampin’ Dimensionals.
- Layer #3: Basic White Cardstock 3-3/4″ x 2-1/2″. Follow these steps:
- Trim the top using the border die from Blossoming Happiness Dies.
- Stamp the ribbon image three times using Cajun Craze, Daffodil Delight and Old Olive Inks.
- Wrap Linen Thread at the top three times and tie into a bow.
- Glue layer to card front at an angle using Stampin’ Dimensionals.
- Scotties: Stamp the three Scottie dog images using Cajun Craze, Crumb Cake and Early Espresso Inks. Stamp the collar image on each dog. Cut one dog with the coordinating punch and hand-cut the other two with Paper Snips. Glue all three dogs at the bottom of the white layer using Stampin’ Dimensionals.
- Bow: Stamp the bow using Daffodil Delight Ink. Cut with the punch and glue to the dog in the front.
- Bling: Add Brushed Metallic Adhesive Backed Dots to the background.
