Hot Summer Nights Theme!

Hello and welcome to our team Stampers Dozen Blog Hop for the month of August. Our theme this month is Hot Summer Nights. I went a little different with my card. All I could think of creating was this and I’ll explain why:

Here in Maine, when it’s hot, I usually stay in the air conditioned house, have the TV on and spend some time in my stamp room so that’s what my card it about. NEWS FLASH….it’s hot out!

I love all of the little elements you can come up with using the Tune In Bundle. I added so many layers and a neat stamped background too. Here’s the details:

Stampin’ Up! Products Used:

• Stamps: Tune In
• Inks: Petunia Pop, Coastal Cabana, Basic Gray
• Cardstock: Petunia Pop, Coastal Cabana, Basic Gray, Basic White
• Tools & Accessories: Tune In Dies, Stampin’ Dimensionals

Card Recipe:

• Card Base: Petunia Pop Cardstock 8-1/2 x 5-1/2. Score and fold at 4-1/4.
• Layer 2: Coastal Cabana Cardstock 5 x 3-3/4. Glue to card front at an angle.
• Layer 3: Basic White Cardstock 4-3/4 x 3-1/2. Stamp the background image repeatedly with Petunia Pop, Coastal Cabana, Basic Gray Inks. Glue to card front.
• TV: Follow these steps:
  • Stamp the TV image on Basic Gray Cardstock with Basic Gray Ink. Cut with the die and glue to the left at an angle with Stampin’ Dimensionals.
  • Cut the center of the TV with the die and Basic White Cardstock. Glue to the TV.
  • Cut the shapes with Petunia Pop Cardstock with the die and glue to the white layer on the TV.
  • Sentiment: Stamp the sentiment on Basic White Cardstock with Coastal Cabana Ink. Cut close to the lettering and glue over the shapes.
• Antennae: Cut one with the die and Petunia Pop Cardstock. Glue to the top left of the TV with Mini Stampin’ Dimensionals.
• Star: Cut one star with the die and Coastal Cabana Cardstock. Glue to the right of the TV with Mini Stampin’ Dimensionals.
