Warm Welcome Bundle & Beautiful Shapes!
Sometimes a simple card is the most striking card. I don’t often create very simple cards but I also don’t like overly crowded cards either. I found the inspiration for today’s card on page 3 of the current Mini Catalog. You can see a snapshot of the card at the top of this photo:
When I’m too lazy to come up with a design or maybe my mojo is not kicking in, I like to go through our catalogs and find a card to case (copy and share everything) or (copy and selectively edit). I chose to edit mine just a tad today.
You’ll see that I used a different stamp set and embossing folder but the cardstock and layout are the same:
Card Recipe:
- Card Base: Thick Basic White Cardstock 11″ x 4-1/4″. Score and fold at 5-1/2″.
- Hexagons: Cut (7) hexagons using the Beautiful Shapes Dies (hexagon #3) and emboss each one with the Basics 3D Embossing Folders (polka dos). Glue all hexagons in place with Stampin’ Dimensionals, placing some over the edges and trimming with Paper Snips.
- Sentiment: Stamp the sentiment of Basic White Cardstock 2-1/2″ x 1/2″ with Basic Gray Ink. Cut both ends at an angle. Glue over the hexagons about 1″ from the bottom.
- Stamped Images: Stamp the cat and gifts images on Basic White Cardstock with Basic Gray Ink. Color with Stampin’ Blends Markers. Cut with the dies and glue over the hexagons.
- Bling: Add Opaque Adhesive-Backed Gems to the hexagons.
