Sending Happy Thoughts!
Good morning and welcome to a Summer theme for Creatively Simple at Create With Stamping Friends!
I chose to use the Wildflower Designs for today’s card. I had a little blunder last week for our Saturday Blog Hop where we featured project using blue’s. I ended up forgetting that I had already created my blues card HERE so I had an extra project. The flower I used for the main image is a summery flower so I opted to use the card for today’s challenge.
The dies in this bundle I just love! I love the shape and the stitching around the edges. If you keep reading, I show you a tip when diecutting:
Stampin’ Up! Products Used:
- Stamps: Wildflower Designs
- Inks: Misty Moonlight
- Cardstock: Pool Party, Basic White
- Designer Paper: Country Woods
- Tools & Accessories: Wildflower Designs Dies, Opal Rounds Assortment, Stampin’ Dimensionals, Paper Snips, Blender Pens
Before I list the recipe for today’s card, I wanted to show you a little tip I used to save on my designer paper. Because I am using a larger layer glued to the card base and I knew most of the center would be covered with other layers, I used a smaller die to cut a hole in the center. You can see the hole in the 2nd photo when I glued the designer paper to the card base with the card base color peeking through.
The hole disappears when I add the larger diecut over it. Once I glued all of my layers together to complete my card, the hole was covered and I gained an additional layer for my card. Neat huh?
Card Recipe:
- Card Base: Pool Party Cardstock 11 x 4-1/4. Score and fold at 5-1/2.
- Layer 2: Country Woods Designer Paper 5-1/4 x 4. Cut a hole in the center with the die that measures 3 x 1-7/8. Set this shape aside to use later. Glue designer paper to card base.
- Layer 3: Use the large die that measures 5 x 3-3/8 to cut the two layers. Glue the outside layer flat to card front and the middle section with Stampin’ Dimensionals.
- Layer 4: Glue the die shape used to cut the hole in the designer paper to card front about 1″ from the left side.
- Flower: Stamp the flower image on Basic White Cardstock with Misty Moonlight Ink. Use a Blender Pen to color the flowers with the inked lines. Glue to label shape with Stampin’ Dimensionals.
- Sentiment: Stamp the sentiment on Pool Party Cardstock 3-1/4 x 5/8 using Misty Moonlight Ink. Cut the ends into a banner shape with Paper Snips. Glue over the flower with Stampin’ Dimensionals.
- Bling: Add Opal Rounds Assortment to the background.
