A Color Block Card!
Welcome to our Create With Stamping Friends Inspiration Monday challenges. This week’s inspiration challenge is this beautiful photo of a luscious looking cupcake. I decided to use the colors as my inspiration:
I used 1/2″ strips of cardstock I had on hand. Do you keep all of your cardstock scraps? I do most of the time. I have clear page protectors that I labeled with each cardstock color and keep my scraps in a box on my stamping counter and at my fingertips. It’s so easy to find what I need by doing it this way.
I chose to use the colors Pretty In Pink, Petunia Pop, Berry Burst and Soft Sea Foam. I thought they looked the closest to the colors in the photo. I also added a few stamped images from the Stippled Roses Bundle and added bling and ribbon:
Stampin’ Up! Products Used:
- Stamps: Stippled Roses
- Inks: Berry Burst, Pretty In Pink, Soft Sea Foam
- Cardstock: Berry Burst, Pretty In Pink, Soft Sea Foam, Petunia Pop
- Tools & Accessories: Stippled Roses Dies, Modern Oval Punch, Iridescent Pearl Basic Jewels, Petunia Pop Bordered Ribbon, Mini Glue Dots, Stampin’ Dimensionals
Card Recipe:
- Card Base: Soft Sea Foam Cardstock 11 x 4-1/4. Score and fold at 5-1/2.
- Layer 2: Basic White Cardstock 5-1/4 x 4. Glue to card base.
- Layer 3: Basic White Cardstock 5 x 3-3/4. Cut 1/2″ strips of Berry Burst, Pretty In Pink, Soft Sea Foam, Petunia Pop Cardstocks and glue to white layer. Trim the ends to fit if needed. Glue to card front with Stampin’ Dimensionals.
- Sentiment: Stamp the sentiment on Basic White Cardstock with Berry Burst Ink. Cut with the Modern Oval Punch. Glue flat to card front centered and to the right.
- Stamped Images: Stamp the leaft image on Soft Sea Foam Cardstock with Soft Seafoam Ink. Stamp 3 roses on Pretty In Pink Cardstock with Pretty In Pink Ink. Cut all stamped images with the dies and glue around the sentiment layer with Stampin’ Dimesionals.
- Bling: Add Iridescent Pearl Basic Jewels to the background.
- Ribbon: Tie a knot with the ribbon and glue to the stem of the leaves with Mini Glue Dots.
