Punched Backgrounds Theme!
Welcome to our Saturday Blog Hop at Create With Stamping Friends. It’s all about punches this week and using them for backgrounds. When you take a peek at my card, the layer with the flowers looks like designer paper doesn’t it? But it’s not! The flowers are actually from the Petal Park Builder Punch!
I punched a bunch of flowers using the Thoughtful Journey Designer Paper and glued them to a layer of Basic Black Cardstock. I think I picked a neat sheet of designer paper because the colors pop so well against the black:
Stampin’ Up! Products Used:
- Stamps: Wildflower Designs
- Inks: Tuxedo Black Memento Ink
- Cardstock: Basic Black, Basic White
- Designer Paper: Thoughtful Journey
- Tools & Accessories: Petal Park Builder Punch, Neutrals Adhesive-Backed Sequins, Stampin’ Dimensionals
Card Recipe:
- Card Base: Basic Black Cardstock 11 x 4-1/4. Score and fold at 5-1/2.
- Layer 2: Basic White Cardstock 5-1/4 x 4. Glue to card front.
- Layer 3: Basic Black Cardstock 4-1/4 x 3. Set aside.
- Flowers: Use the Petal Park Builder Punch and punch a bunch of flowers with the Thoughtful Journey Designer Paper. Place the flower on Layer 3, making sure some go beyond the edges. Trim off the edges and reuse the cut flowers on other edges. Glue to card front with Stampin’ Dimensionals.
- Sentiment: Basic White Cardstock 3-3/4 x 3/4. Stamp the sentiment with Tuxedo Black Memento Ink. Glue about 2″ from the bottom.
- Bling: Add Neutrals Adhesive-Backed Sequins to the background.
