Christmas In August!
I was away visiting my Mom on the weekend and did not have time to preschedule posts for you so I missed yesterday! My Mom has two sisters. One that lives about 10 miles away from her and the other sister lives in Canada. They had not seen each other for 3 years due to the pandemic. It was exciting to see them hook up on the weekend finally. I also was able to meet up with two of my cousins that I had not seen for a while and my sister was with us as well. Fun-fun! So now I’m back!
Today’s card is the 2nd card from last week’s Christmas in August Stamp Camp. I incorporated a technique on this card that you can’t see unless I tell you about it so keep reading!
Have you ever made your own colored embossing? Everyone loved the end result. The trick is to keep your ink wet so the embossing powder sticks to it. This can be achieved using these steps:
- Ink the stamp with VersaMark Ink and don’t stamp just yet.
- Ink over the VersaMark Ink with colored ink. Now you can stamp the image.
- Sprinkle Clear Embossing Powder over the image.
- Melt the powder with a Heat Tool
- Viola! Colored and shiny!
The colored ink peeks through the clear powder and it looks lovely!
Card Supplies:
- Stamps: Peace To You
- Cardstock: Night Of Navy, Coastal Cabana, Basic White
- Inks: VersaMark, Night Of Navy
- Tools & Accessories: Merry Melody 3D Embossing Folder, Basics Embossing Powder, Heat Tool, Stitched Rectangles Dies, Stampin’ Dimensionals, Paper Snips

Hello Debbie, After I saw your card, I immediately purchased it because this will be my Christmas card for 2022. How did you create the 5-sided centerpiece for the image?
Blessings,
Kathy

Hi Cathy, so happy you love the card. I actually trimmed around the stamped/embossed image with my paper trimmer, leave about 1/4″ around all sides.

Love the card and this stamp set. Had a hard time getting the ink i used dark enough to suit me.
I will try your technique with the ink and clear powder. Thanks so much for sharing your projects and
ideas and your uplifting sentiments at the end of your blog posts. May God richly bless your week.
