I Cased The Catalog With Some Selective Editing. Let Me Show You How!
I chose this card from pages 118-119 of our Annual Catalog to case for you today. Case normally means Copied And Shared Exactly but today it means Copied And Selectively Edited.
I do not own the stamp set that was used in two ways on the card below. Stampin’ Up! used the stamped images on the card base with the tone-on-tone technique and then used it again for the hand-cut images:
What did I selectively edit? I used the same colors but added:
- More cardstock layers
- A different shape for the sentiment layer
- A different stamp set with different images
- Substituted a different ribbon and some gems
I also added some Wink Of Stella Clear Glitter Brush on the leaves after I used the Garden Green Stampin’ Write Marker to trace the outside and inside detail of the leaves. Since I wanted the image that I stamped in two colors, I first inked with Lemon Lime Twist Ink and wiped off the ink on the leaves with a Blender Pen. I then colored the leaf with the Garden Green Stampin’ Write Marker. I did this twice for two images.
Follow along with these steps and your choice of a stamp set. You can substitute with any set:
- Card Base: Lemon Lime Twist Cardstock 11″ x 4-1/4″. Score and fold at 5-1/2″.
- Layer 2: Garden Green Cardstock 5-1/4″ x 4″. Glue to card base.
- Layer 3: Berry Burst Cardstock 5″ x 3-3/4″. Stamp the grapes image with Berry Burst Ink over the whole cardstock piece. Set aside
- Layer 4: Basic White Cardstock cut with the large outline doily die from the Delightful Doily Dies. Stamp the top sentiment with Garden Green Ink and the sentiment below that with Berry Burst Ink. Glue doily shape to Berry Burst layer with Stampin’ Dimensionals. Set aside.
- Ribbon: Wrap the Lemon Lime Twist Ribbon from the Ribbon Due Combo Pack around the Berry Burst layer and tucked under the doily. Create a bow at the left. Glue layer to card front with Stampin’ Dimensionals.
- Grapes: Follow these steps:
- Ink the grapes image with Lemon Lime Twist Ink and wipe off the ink on the leaves with a Blender Pen. Colored the leaf with a Garden Green Stampin’ Write Marker. Stamp the image. Repeat a 2nd time with a clean stamp image.
- Cut both images with Paper Snips.
- Use the Garden Green Stampin’ Write Marker to trace the outside of the leaves and to add details to the inside of the leaves.
- Color the leaves with Wink Of Stella Clear Glitter Brush.
- Glue the grapes to the doily.
- Bling: Use the Dark Berry Burst Blends Marker to color three of the Copper Clay gems from the Adhesive-Backed Solid Gems. Glue to doily.
