Green Eyed Lady Theme!
Welcome to our Saturday Blog Hop at Create With Connie & Mary! This week, our featured song of color is Green Eyed Lady by Sugarloaf. We have one more week remaining next week, for our songs of color themes.
This is the card I came up with called a Vertical Easel Card Fold. My green color of choice is Garden Green:
You can see that the card does fold flat for mailing and that the circle on the front pops depending on the position of the card fold:
I used our Fresh As A Daisy Suite and here are all of the products I used:
Stampin’ Up! Products Used:
- Stamps: Cheerful Daisies
- Inks: Garden Green, Daffodil Delight, Pecan Pie
- Cardstock: Garden Green, Basic White
- Designer Paper: Fresh As A Daisy
- Tools & Accessories: Cheerful Daisies Dies, Radiating Stitches Dies, 2-3/8″ Circle Punch, Stylish Shapes Dies, Stampin’ Dimensionals
In order for me to show you how to create the folding mechanism on the front, I will be using photos for my steps this week. Card Recipe:
- Card Base: Garden Green Cardstock 8-1/2″ x 5-1/2″. Score at 2-1/8″ & 4-1/4″. Fold on both score lines.
- Layer 2: (2) Basic White Cardstock 5-1/4″ x 1-7/8″. Glue to each panel on the front.
- Layer 3: (2) Fresh As A Daisy Designer Paper 5″ x 1-5/8″. Glue over the white layers.
Now I will explain the remaining steps in the photos below:
Photo 1:
- This photo shows you a close-up of the front stamped layer and I’ll show you how to assemble.
Photo 2: Inside of Card:
- Layer 1: Basic White Cardstock 5-1/4″ x 4″. Glue to inside of card.
- Layer 2: Designer Paper 5″ x 3-3/4″. Glue to inside.
- Layer 3: Basic White Cardstock 4-3/4″ x 2-1/8″. Glue to the inside evenly spaced at the left.
- Sentiment: Stamp the sentiment on Basic White Cardstock with Pecan Pie Ink. Cut with the circle from Radiating Stitches Dies. Glue to the right with Stampin’ Dimensionals. This is what will keep your card open in the easel position.
Photo 3:
- Cut (2) Garden Green Cardstock circles using the 1-1/4″ circle from the Stylish Circles Dies.
- Fold both circles in half.
Photo 4:
- Add adhesive to one half only of each circle.
Photo 5:
- Using the center fold on the front of the card, glue one circle with the folded end lined up to the score line on the center fold of the card.
- Repeat with the 2nd circle on the opposite side. The two folded ends of the small circles should be side-by-side.
- Add adhesive to the circle tops.
Photo 6:
- Cut a larger circle using Garden Green Cardstock and the Stylish Shapes Dies 2-1/2″ circle.
- Press in place over the card front on top of the two small circles.
- Glue a white circle cut with the 2-3/8″ Circle Punch to the Garden Green circle.
- Stamp the daisy, daisy center and leaves using Pecan Pie, Garden Green and Daffodil Delight Inks.
- Cut with the dies.
- Glue daisy and leaves flat. Glue the daisy center with Stampin’ Dimensionals.
