Valentine Flip Theme!
Welcome to our Saturday Blog Hop at Create With Connie & Mary! Oh did I have fun with the theme for this week. We all used a stamp set or bundle that is not intended for Valentine’s and flipped the project for Valentines. Within minutes of sitting down in my stamp room to create, this idea was born:
I was working on swap cards for another team I am on and just seeing the tools from the Trusty Tools Bundle made me do this! I took the tools and spelled the word LOVE with them. I think that’s pretty neat, do you?
I also love the sentiment I found with the Perennial Postage stamp set. The word measure reminds me of the measuring tape that I used on one of the images and of course the word love for Valentines. Here are the details:
Stampin’ Up! Products Used:
- Stamps: Trusty Tools, Perennial Postage
- Inks: Basic Gray, Poppy Parade
- Designer Paper: 2023-2025 In Color
- Cardstock: Poppy Parade, Basic White, Daffodil Delight
- Tools & Accessories: Trusty Tools Dies, Paper Snips, Stampin’ Dimensionals, Adhesive-Backed Cork Rounds, Watercolor Pencils, Blender Pens
Card Recipe:
- Card Base: Poppy Parade Cardstock 8-1/2″ x 5-1/2″. Score and fold at 4-1/4″.
- Layer 2: Basic White Cardstock 5-1/4″ x 4″. Glue to card base.
- Layer 3: 2023-2025 In Color Designer Paper 5″ x 3-3/4″. Glue to card front.
- Sentiment: Stamp the sentiment from the Perennial Postage Stamp set with Basic Gray Ink on Basic White Cardstock. Use Paper Snips to cut close to the lettering. Glue to the bottom right and flat.
- Layer 4: Use the pegboard die and Daffodil Delight Cardstock to cut the holes on a layer 3-3/4″ x 2-3/8″. Glue above the sentiment at an angle.
- Tools: Follow these steps:
- Hammer: Stamp the hammer on Basic White Cardstock with Basic Gray Ink. Color with a gray watercolor pencil and a Blender Pen. Cut with the die. Glue to the left of the peg board with Stampin’ Dimensionals.
- Measuring Tape: Stamp the measuring tape with Poppy Parade Ink on Basic White Cardstock. Color some of the image with a Blender Pen using the inked lines. Add some yellow with Watercolor Pencils. Cut with the die. Cut the circle on the inside off with Paper Snips. Glue to the right of the hammer with Stampin’ Dimenisonals.
- Wrenches: Stamp 2 wrenches with Basic Gray Ink. Color with the gray and red watercolor pencils and a Blender Pen. Cut both out with the die. Layer together to form the “V”. Glue to the right of the measuring tape with Stampin’ Dimensionals.
- Pencils: Stamp 4 pencils with Poppy Parade Ink on Basic White Cardstock. Color with yellow and red watercolor pencils and a Blender Pen. Cut all 4 pencils with the die. Glue and form the “E” and trim the pencils. Glue to the right of the wrenches with Stampin’ Dimensionals.
- Bling: Add Adhesive-Backed Cork Rounds to the background.
