Sketch Challenge Week!
It’s Thursday Challenge time at Create With Connie & Mary and this is our sketch for the creative challenge this week:
I opted to use my Bee Mine Punch for the two circles on the sketch. I stamped the stripes and faces with VersaMark Ink on Designer Paper and used white embossing powder on each one:
I also added some Adhesive-Backed Shiny Sequins to the background over the Garden Walk Designer Paper. Do you like the height I added to my banner?
Stampin’ Up! Products Used:
- Stamps: Bee My Valentine
- Cardstock: Thick Basic White, Calypso Coral, Basic White
- Designer Paper: Garden Walk
- Inks: VersaMark, Pretty Peacock
- Tools & Accessories: Bee Mine Punch, Heat Tool, Basics Embossing Powders, Adhesive-Backed Shiny Sequins, Paper Snips, Stampin’ Dimensionals
Card Recipe:
- Card Base: Thick Basic White 8-1/2″ x 5-1/2″. Score and fold at 4-1/4″.
- Layer 2: Garden Walk Designer Paper 5-1/2″ x 4-1/4″. Glue to card base.
- Layer 3: Basic White Cardstock 4-1/4″ x 2-3/4″. Glue to card front about 1/2″ from the right side and 3/4″ from the bottom.
- Layer 4: Garden Walk Designer Paper 4″ x 2-1/2″. Glue to white layer.
- Layer 5: Calypso Coral Cardstock strip that measures 4-1/2″ x 1/2″. Cut both ends with Paper Snips to the shape of a banner. Glue to the white layer flat, about 1/4″ from the bottom edge.
- Layer 6: Calypso Coral Cardstock 3-1/2″ x 1/2″. Stamp the sentiment in the center with VersaMark Ink. Sprinkle with White Embossing Powder and melt with the Heat Tool. Glue to layer 5 with Stampin’ Dimensionals.
- Bees: Follow these steps:
- Stamp bee stripes on two patterns of the Garden Walk Designer Paper with VersaMark Ink. Sprinkle White Embossing Powder and melt with the Heat Tool. Cut with the punch. Stamp the face image on both with VersaMark Ink. Sprinkle White Embossing Powder and melt with the Heat Tool. Set aside.
- Stamp (2) wings on Basic White Cardstock with Pretty Peacock Ink. Stamp the center of the wings by stamping on scrap paper first for a lighter shade of Pretty Peacock Ink. Cut with the punch and glue to each bee.
- Stamp (2) antennas on Basic White Cardstock with Pretty Peacock Ink. Cut with the punch. Glue to each bee.
- Glue the bees to the card front with Stampin’ Dimensionals.
- Bling: Add Adhesive-Backed Shiny Sequins to the background.
