Sweetest Star Bundle Ornament!
Welcome to our Create With Stamping Friends Inspiration Monday challenges. This week’s inspiration challenge is this neat photo:
I was in the process of working on our Create With Stamping Friends Tutorials and created this hanging ornament. I felt it was too simple for the tutorial so I went back to the drawing board. I didn’t want to waste my project so decided to show it to you today:
I used the Sweetest Star Bundle along with all of these products:
- Stamps: Sweetest Star
- Inks: Memento Black
- Stampin’ Blends: Real Red, Old Olive, Basic Black, Ivory, Gray Granite
- Cardstock: Thick Basic White, Basic White
- Designer Paper: Take A Bow
- Tools & Accessories: Sweetest Star Punch, Real Red & White Adhesive-Backed Peppermints, Real Red & White Baker’s Twine, Multipurpose Glue, Simply Scored, Tear & Tape
- Use the punch to create 5 stars for Santa & 5 stars for Mrs. Claus. I used two patterns.
- Use the Simply Scored scoring tool to add a score line vertically in half.
- Fold all stars in half and add multipurpose glue to one half.
- Press a 2nd star to the area with glue.
- Repeat until all stars are glued to each other to create the 3D star look.
- Your completed 3D star should resemble the first & 2nd photos above.
- Use the punch to cut 4 stars with Thick Basic White Cardstock.
- You will need a piece of twine the length you would like to hang in your tree or on a gift package. I used 20″.
- Stamp Santa and Mrs. Claus on Basic White Cardstock with Memento Black Ink.
- Cut with the Star Punch.
- Color both images with Stampin’ Blends.
- Add Tear & Tape to the center vertically on all 4 stars.
- Peel the backing from one star and press the twine in place.
- Press the other end of the twine into place on a 2nd star so you have one on each end.
- Add multipurpose glue to 2 stars with the twine and press the remaining 2 stars in place over the first 2 stars.
- Add multipurpose glue to one star with the twine and press the Santa in place. Repeat on the other star for Mrs. Claus.
- Flip the stars to the 2nd side and add multipurpose glue.
- Press the 3D Designer Paper stars in place.
- Add a 2nd layer of twine (2 pieces) at the top of the loop and tie into a bow, leaving a small loop for hanging.
