Elegant Edges Theme!
Welcome to our Saturday Blog Hop at Create With Stamping Friends. Have you ever used dies or punches in a different way than what they were intended for? That’s what I did this week for our blog hop theme.
I used the Nested Essential Dies for 2 of my layers:
I chose to stamp my leaves on Basic Beige Cardstock and I love how it mutes the colors a bit so they are not so bright. I love the label shape I used for my sentiment too!
Stampin’ Up! Products Used:
- Stamps: Autumn Leaves
- Inks: Cajun Craze, Lemon Lime Twist, Mossy Meadow
- Cardstock: Basic Beige, Basic White, Mossy Meadow, Peach Pie
- Designer Paper: 2024-2026 In Color
- Tools & Accessories: Autumn Leaves Dies, Nested Essential Dies, 2024-2026 In Color Shimmer Gems, Stampin’ Dimensionals
Card Recipe:
- Card Base: Basic Beige Cardstock 8-1/2 x 5-1/2. Score and fold at 4-1/4.
- Layer 2: Mossy Meadow Cardstock 5-1/4 x 4. Glue to card base.
- Layer 3: 2024-2026 In Color Designer Paper 5 x 3-3/4. Glue to card front.
Here’s how I cut the edges on the next two layers. Place the die partially on the outside to partially cut. Make sure your diecut machine only rolls over the section of the die on top and stop. You don’t want to roll over the section that is hidden and then roll backwards to take the die & cardstock out:
- Layer 4: Mossy Meadow Cardstock 4-1/4 x 4-1/4. Place the die as shown above and partially cut. One the cut is made, trim so that the length from the tip of the diecut is 3-1/4″ wide. Set aside.
- Layer 5: Basic White Cardstock 4-1/4 x 4-1/4. Place the die as shown above and partially cut. One the cut is made, trim so that the length from the tip of the diecut is 3-1/8″. Stamp the large leaf vein to the left with Mossy Meadow Ink. Glue to Mossy Meadow layer and glue to card front flat.
- Leaves: Stamp both leaf images on Basic Beige Cardstock. The large leaf is with Cajun Craze Ink and the small leaf is Lemon Lime Twist Ink. Stamp the leaf veins on each leaf with Mossy Meadow Ink. Cut the leaves with the dies. Glue to white layer with Stampin’ Dimensionals, lining up the large leaf with the vein on the white layer.
- Sentiment: Stamp the sentiment on Peach Pie Cardstock with Mossy Meadow Ink. Cut with the label die. Glue over the leaves at the top right.
- Bling: Add 2024-2026 In Color Shimmer Gems to the white background.
