This Beautiful Cake Is Our Inspiration This Week!
Welcome to our Create with Stamping Friends Inspiration Monday challenges. This week’s inspiration challenge is a photo of a cake. What would you use on this photo to create a project? You can use the colors, the cake to replicate, the flowers or you can also just use the colors:
I opted to use the colors and the flowers for my project:
The Magnolia Mood Bundle was perfect to try to replicate the flower as close as I could. I also added some embossing on the Crushed Curry layer with the Timeworn Embossing Folder.
Stampin’ Up! Products Used:
- Stamps: Magnolia Mood
- Inks: Crushed Curry, Shaded Spruce
- Cardstock: Crushed Curry, Shaded Spruce, Pecan Pie, Basic White
- Tools & Accessories: Magnolia Mood Dies, Timeworn Embossing Folder, Blending Brush, Rhinestone Basic Jewels, Stampin’ Dimensionals
Card Recipe:
- Card Base: Shaded Spruce Cardstock 8-1/2″ x 5-1/2″. Score and fold at 4-1/4″.
- Layer 2: Basic White Cardstock 5-1/4″ x 4″. Glue to card front.
- Layer 3: Crushed Curry Cardstock 5″ x 3-3/4″. Emboss with the Timeworn Embossing Folder and glue to card front at an angle.
- Flower: Cut the flower with the die and Basic White Cardstock. Use a Blending Brush to add Crushed Curry Ink to the flower centers. Glue to Crushed Curry layer. Cut (3) leaves with Shaded Spruce Cardstock and the dies. Tuck and glue under the white flower.
- Layer 4: Pecan Pie Cardstock 4″ x 1″. Stamp the sentiment with Shaded Spruce Ink. Glue about 3/4″ from the bottom.
- Bling: Add Rhinestone Basic Jewels to the background.
