Oh My Butterflies!
Welcome to our Create With Stamping Friends Inspiration Monday challenges. This week’s inspiration challenge is:
Most of you know that I love butterflies. Just take a peek at my blog and you’ll realize that! I loved using today’s inspiration photo and here is my take:
I wanted to try to replicate the vintage feel of the inspiration photo so I opted to use a Blending Brush with some Pecan Pie Ink and then add splatters with the image from the Latte Love stamp set:
Stampin’ Up! Products Used:
- Stamps: Latte Love, Grassy Grove
- Inks: Pecan Pie, Calypso Coral
- Cardstock: Crumb Cake, Early Espresso
- Designer Paper:
- Tools & Accessories: Paper Butterfly Accents, Neutrals Adhesive-Backed Sequins, Blending Brush
- Misc: Ruled Note Paper, Mini Stampin’ Dimensionals
Card Recipe:
- Card Base: Early Espresso Cardstock 11 x 4-1/4. Score and fold at 5-1/2.
- Layer 2: Crumb Cake Cardstock 5 x 3-3/4. Use a Blending Brush to add Pecan Pie Ink around the edges. Glue to card base at an angle.
- Layer 3: Ruled Note Paper 4-1/2 x 3-1/4. Use a Blending Brush to add Pecan Pie Ink around the edges. Stamp the splatter image with Pecan Pie Ink. Glue to card front at an opposite angle.
- Sentiment: Stamp the sentiment on Crumb Cake Cardstock 2-3/4 x 1. Tear the left end. Use a Blending Brush to add Pecan Pie Ink around the edges. Stamp the sentiment with Calypso Coral Ink. Glue about 1″ from the top and to the right.
- Butterflies: Pick two butterflies from the Paper Butterfly Accents and add Pecan Pie and Calypso Coral Inks with Blending Brushes. Glue to card front with Mini Dimensionals (you may have to cut a few in half). Glue butterflies to card front.
- Bling: Add Neutrals Adhesive-Backed Sequins to the background.
