A Neat Way To Use The Flowers!
On September 1st, you’ll be able to order some new Stampin’ Up! dies and the Apple Blossoms is included in that list. Today I am showing you a card I created using those dies. I wanted to use the cute flower dies in a different way. Take a peek below:
It was easy to create the circular layer you see on the card front by filling it with diecut flowers. I took a scrap piece of Basic White Cardstock and added both flower sizes. They are all glued down with Mini Stampin’ Dimensionals as you see in the first photo below:
I then used the largest circle die from the Stylish Shapes Dies and cut through all layers. Make sure you crank your diecut machine front and back a few times. You may even need to flip your die so it’s facing upwards with the cardstock sitting on top. You can secure it in place with some Washi Tape so it won’t move on you.
Before I glued my circle layer to the card front, I stamped repeatedly with the small border image on the Fresh Freesia Cardstock layer:
Card Supplies:
- Stamps: Apple Harvest
- Inks: Starry Sky
- Cardstock: Starry Sky, Fresh Freesia, Mango Melody, Basic White
- Tools & Accessories: Pretty Flowers Embossing Folder, Stylish Shapes Dies, Mini Stampin’ Dimensionals, Fresh Freesia Open Weave Ribbon, Apple Blossoms Dies, Basic Rhinestone Jewels, Mini Glue Dots
Card Recipe:
- Card Base: Mango Melody Cardstock 8-1/2″ x 5-1/2″. Score and fold at 4-1/4″.
- Layer #2: Starry Sky Cardstock 5-1/4″ x 4″. Emboss using the Pretty Flowers Embossing Folder. Glue to card base.
- Layer #3: Fresh Freesia Cardstock 4-1/2″ x 3-1/4″. Stamp the sentiment at the bottom using Starry Sky Ink. Stamp the small border image repeatedly on the top and two sides using Starry Sky Ink. Glue to card front 1/4″ from the left side of the Starry Sky layer.
- Layer #4: Basic White Cardstock scrap. Diecut several flowers using the two flower dies and glue to the white layer close to each other using Mini Stampin’ Dimensionals. Cut with the largest circle die from the Stylish Shapes Dies. NOTE: You may have to flip the cardstock upside down to cut through. Glue to card front about 1″ from the top using Stampin’ Dimensionals.
- Flower Centers: Using the flower center dies to cut one for each flower and glue to the center of each flower. Trim the ones that peek out from the edges.
- Bling: Add Rhinestone Basic Jewels to the center of each flower.
- Bow: Create a bow using the Fresh Freesia Open Weave Ribbon. Glue to the bottom right on the circle using Mini Glue Dots.
Check out our new dies coming soon!
