Let’s Sale-A-Brate Theme!
Happy Valentine’s Day and welcome to our February Stampers Dozen Design Team Blog Hop! This month, we are all featuring Sale-A-Bration products. When I spied a new watermelon stamp set, I wanted it! What’s even better? It’s free during Sale-A-Bration with a qualifying order. That’s even better right?
I decided to create a watermelon-shaped card to go with the Watercolor Melon stamp set:
The addition of the Glorious Gingham Designer Paper on one of the layers looks great doesn’t it? I even stamped my watermelon seeds direct to paper:
Here’s the how-to and products used:
- Stamps: Watercolor Melon, Perennial Postage
- Inks: Berry Burst, Lemon Lime Twist, Tuxedo Black Memento
- Cardstock: Basic White, Lemon Lime Twist
- Designer Paper: Glorious Gingham
- Tools & Accessories: Paper Snips, Deckled Circles Dies, Stampin’ Dimensionals
Steps:
- Card Base: Cut with the Deckled Circles Dies 5-3/8″ wide using Lemon Lime Twist Cardstock. Fold in half.
- Layer 2: Basic White Cardstock cut with the Deckled Circles Dies 4-4/8″ wide. Fold in half and glue to the card base.
- Layer 3: Glorious Gingham Designer Paper cut with the Deckled Circles Dies 4-1/4″ wide. Fold in half and glue to card front.
- Hole: Using the 1-3/8″ Deckled Circles Die, place at the top of the folded card about 1″ from the left edge. Use a pencil to trace the die to resemble a bite mark. Cut through all layers with Paper Snips.
- Watermelons: Stamp both watermelon slices on Basic White Cardstock with Berry Burst & Lemon Lime Twist Inks. Cut both watermelon pieces with Paper Snips. Glue to card front at the right with Stampin’ Dimensionals.
- Seeds: Stamp the watermelon seeds to the gingham paper with Tuxedo Black Memento Ink.
- Sentiment: Use the sentiment from the Perennial Postage stamp set on Basic White with Tuxedo Black Memento Ink. Cut close to the lettering with Paper Snips. Glue to card front with Stampin’ Dimensionals.
